Zheng Changyu

Zheng Changyu is Beijing born and raised, formed his first band in college, while studying Business English at Jiangxi in 2002. Called Dang 荡, they were a post-punk act in which Zhang, "Screamed, not sung." His second band, Unrule Guys, were formed in 2004 after his return to Beijing. The band played very pure, gritty but eloquent music. "We sung about love and life. Most of the songs were in Chinese, with two or three English ones. One subject that I found most provocative was bath houses. There was one very close to my house called Xiyu Zhongxin 洗浴中心 , you know the type with loads of hookers. Lots of black-tinted BMWs would drive into that place and they'd put newspaper over the license plates to conceal their identity. It's just very funny. On TV the kind of people that drive those cars look very powerful but in reality they are incredibly fake." Zheng has been coordinating activities with Maybe Mars since 2007.
